The world cup.. Just like any other league you’d say? Well, in Holland that’s a NO.
I think it might be the most important league for us dutchies. Maybe because we do so well almost every time, but never actually won. Or it could be because we really support our national team, the whole country turns orange and we just love the feeling of nationalism that comes with it. I don’t know..
Me, I’m not so much of a soccer fan. Except for the world cup and the euro cup. When that time comes around again, I turn into one of the most enthusiastic supporters Holland can have. Watching almost every match, learning more and more about the game, getting to know the greater players of the world, recognizing certain aspects of the game and even knowing what i’m talking about when we’re evaluation afterwords.
On top of that I just love that the whole country becomes one. Everybody roots for the same team, is wearing the same color and no fights after losing a match. The rivalry between supporters of teams competing in other national and international leagues is beyond crazy sometimes. It can actually get out of hand so badly, that supporters are banned from certain matches and stadiums to make sure there won’t be any fights or violence.
So here i’m sitting in front of the tv, wearing my orange shirt, waiting for the match to start. Just wondering a little if these crazy things happen in other countries too..
We all know them: The little mermaid, Cinderella, The sleeping beauty, Snow White, Aladdin, Winnie the Pooh and so on.
Didn’t we all grow up with Disney movies? In my opinion it should be part of your upbringing.
Personally I love Disney movies and of course the Disney theme parks.
Ever since I was a cute, tiny, bright blond curled, little girl, I love the movies. I used to watch them with my mother and grandmother who also loved the movies.
Nowadays The Little Mermaid is definitely my favorite animated Disney movie. I just love the idea of mermaids living under the sea, the story is great and the songs are amazing. I know them all by heart.
However, one of my all time favorite movies and character from a movie are also Disney. I’m talking about Pirates of the Caribbean and Jack Sparrow! Just can’t get enough of that pirate.
When I was in Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom in Orlando April of this year, I had the honor of meeting Captain Jack Sparrow himself. Amazing.
Walking around in a totally different world. No matter how old you are, when in Disney you are a little kid all over again. Want to go in all the rides. Eat candy all day. Sing along with the music and songs you hear. Songs that will get stuck in your head for weeks (It’s a small world). And meeting your favorite Disney characters.
New year, new chances. Right? So January is almost over already, but still, new years resolutions count for the whole year. At least, they’re supposed to.
No ordinary resolutions for me. In fact, I kinda hate them actually. Nobody ever really make them work and when people have resolutions, most are so typical. Stop smoking, lose weight, exercise more and so on..
Not for me. Of course I should eat more healthy, work out more, lose some weight. But who doesn’t. In my opinion that’s not something you should do because it’s a new year and you want to improve yourself. If you really want those things, it doesn’t matter when you start, you don’t need a date or a timeframe to accomplish them. Just do it!
My resolutions are all about fun! For example: go out more, more socializing with my friends, go to concerts more often (I rarely do this, but I’m always so excited when I went), get my movie-unlimited card again and go see a new movie every week, but the most important one is travel more. I just love to travel and discover the world. Foreign people, different cultures and lifestyles, architecture, unfamiliar food. It intrigues me.
I think I made my point. After all, you really do only live once. Better make the best of it right?
Instead of putting my thoughts on paper, let’s put them on the internet.
So what will this blog be about? That’s a fairly good question. I will write about everything I love. About people I like, about discoveries I’ve made, about live events I’ve experienced. About tips and tricks I’ve found, about recipes I love, about trips I’ve made.
I have a passion for photography, a passion for traveling, a passion for baking, a passion for music and lyrics, a passion for gadgets and a small little tiny passion for fashion.
This is where the gorgeous chaos comes in. It’s a mess, all those subjects to write on, no structure at all. It’s a mess. It’s a chaos, but it’s my mess, my chaos and I think it’s gorgeous!
